Who is our school named after?

I did my best to find out who the "Heath" School is named after but I think it is named for Heath Street.  If so, who is Heath Street named after?

Blasts from the past:

Miss Allard (Kindergarten) , Mrs. Hill (Grade 1) Mrs. Twohig (Grade 2) , Miss Langsam (3) , Mrs. Harris (grade 4, a pretty blonde from W.Virginia who would say "dub-ya" instead of "W") , Miss Connors (the other grade 4), Miss Dunham (5) , Mrs. Dada (the other grade 5 + 6) , Mrs. Wolfe (6), Mrs. Steury (Science grades 7 & 8) , Nicki (Mr. Nickerson, Grades 7 & 8) , Miss Howard (in tribute to her memory, I won't mention her nickname, Grades 7 & 8) , Mr. Hart (Math  8) , Mr. Borgman (Industrial Arts) , Mr. Mac (McIrnerny) (P.E.) , Miss Pine (Art) , Nurse Laura Hager, Mr. (Hurricane) Hanley & Mr. Bagley (nowadays referred to as environmental technicians) and, last but not least, D.J. (Dr. Jenkins).  In grades 7 & 8, we had a new art teacher, but can't remember her name.    Miss Mason was the girl's gym teacher.

Mrs. Newman, the mother of Fred Newman, a now deceased, Brookline bred, former pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels, was the cashier in the cafeteria.  I also remember Miss Coska, our music teacher,  who married and became Mrs. Raymond.

I can remember the "yellow chair" in Kindergarten (won't mention who sat in it most often).  Did we have a librarian? If so, does anyone remember her name?

After the fifth grade, we also had the advanced class at our school, consisting of the smartest kids from all of the Brookline Public Schools.  As I remember, we only shared gym class with them.  I think Ronnie Pitt and Dickie Fine were the only "true" Heath School students in that class.

Do you remember our gym uniforms?  Green with yellow lettering.

More to follow as the gray cells kick in......

Jason,

Did you forget Mrs. Newbury, my 5th grade teacher.  And what about Mr. Nickerson, who called me Jean for two years.  I only attended Heath for grades 5-8, but I do what to know who sat in the "yellow chair" most often.  Come on....give us a clue, at least!

Hi Nancy,

I don't remember EVERYBODY's teacher and thanks for filling in some of the voids.  I did mention Mr. Nickerson, "Nicki".

Did you see our class picture under my profile?

A decade+ late, but hello Jason Kantor. Your memory of our teachers is good. Dickie Fine and Larry Abrams went into the advanced class in 5th grade, but fortunately I stayed with the regular kids. Lots of great kids with us, like Paul Doyle, Chris Higgins, Jimmy McMahon, Barry McNeilly, Jimmy Curtin, and a bunch of others.
